These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of AltBase. By signing up or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use AltBase.

Who can use AltBase

AltBase is a private network for verified alumni of AltSchool. To use it you must:

• Be at least 16 years old.
• Be an AltSchool alumnus (or have completed onboarding while we verify your status).
• Provide accurate information about yourself during sign-up and onboarding.

Your account

You are responsible for the activity on your account. Keep your credentials safe and do not share them. One account per person, no impersonation, no role accounts, no automated sign-ups. If you sign in with Google, the email tied to that account is the one we use.

While your verification is pending, parts of AltBase are read-only. Once an admin approves you, full access opens up.

Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post (text, images, profile details, projects, messages). By posting it on AltBase, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it within the service for the purpose of operating AltBase.

You are responsible for what you post. Don't post:

• Anything illegal, harassing, threatening, hateful, or sexually explicit.
• Content that infringes someone else's intellectual property.
• Confidential information that isn't yours to share.
• Personal information of other alumni (no doxxing).
• Spam, recruiter cold-DMs, multi-level marketing pitches, or commercial scraping bots.
• Anything that compromises the security of AltBase or its users.

We may remove content that violates these rules and suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly do.

Verification and identity

AltBase verifies alumni status by reviewing certificates or cohort proof during onboarding. We may delay access, request additional evidence, or reject sign-ups we cannot verify. Verification is a human review and is not instant.

Service availability

AltBase is provided "as is" and "as available" during the MVP phase. We do not guarantee uptime, freedom from bugs, or that any specific feature will remain available. We may change, add, or remove features as the platform evolves.

Termination

You can stop using AltBase at any time and delete your account by emailing us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that harms other alumni or the platform.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, AltBase is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months, which, since AltBase is free for alumni, is zero.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to AltSchool's operating entity. Disputes that cannot be resolved by email go to the courts with jurisdiction over that entity.

Changes

We may update these Terms as AltBase evolves. If we make material changes, we will update the page and email registered alumni at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
